Two months after bidding farewell to Warner Music Group\/Asylum, his home for more than 15 years, Billboard reports that he is set to join Interscope.<\/p>\n
The outlet notes that WMG will retain rights to his hits.<\/p>\n
The Azizam singer recently reflected on meeting A+R executive Ed Howard at a tiny Notting Hill gig when he was just 18 – a chance encounter that led to sofa-surfing, early demos and eventually a record deal that changed his life.<\/p>\n
Ed said the WMG split wasn\u2019t fuelled by drama, but by his personal evolution as a father of two.<\/p>\n
He explained: \u201cMy life is hugely different now\u2026 I\u2019ve been feeling in my gut for a long time that a lot of things in my professional life need to change.”<\/p>\n
Ed thanked the label teams worldwide and left the door open for future collaborations.<\/p>\n
He later revealed his intention to take time away from music once his LOOP tour wraps, telling fans he wants to prioritise being a father.<\/p>\n
During his show in Glendale, Arizona, in June, the 35-year-old singer – who has daughtgers Lyra, five, and four-year-old Jupiter with wife Cherry Seaborn – paused mid-set to explain that he may be off the road for some time.<\/p>\n
He told the crowd they \u201cmay not see him again for a while\u201d, adding: \u201cThis is gonna be my last time here in a while. I might take some time off once this tour has ended and sort of do the dad thing. So if I don’t see you for a while, I love you, thank you for coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
