She began piano lessons at the age of 7, learning from <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Joseph-Haydn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joseph Haydn<\/a>, who lived in the same building as her family. She also received singing lessons with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Nicola-Porpora\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nicola Porpora<\/a>, also a resident of their building, who later took Haydn on as an assistant as well.
