Lamar Odom<\/strong><\/a> is reflecting on the idea that he was married to Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> for \u201cclout.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI gotta ask you \u2014 because my wife loves the Kardashians, my wife loves you \u2014 and she was saying that they were dragging you because [someone] in the Netflix documentary said you were with her for the clout. I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t believe that,\u2019\u201d host Louis Ruggiero<\/strong> said on a June episode of the \u201cNothing\u2019s Off The Table With Louis Ruggiero\u201d<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n Odom, 46, replied, \u201cBut that never came out of my mouth. I think that was my kids or my children or whoever they were interviewing at the time. Because, as I look into the camera, I didn\u2019t really need more clout.\u201d<\/p>\n The athlete pointed to his basketball career, explaining that he was \u201cplaying with the best player of my generation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt just fit, you know what I mean. Sometimes when some things fit too well, the average person can\u2019t understand or can\u2019t even grasp it,\u201d he said. \u201cI didn\u2019t really need anybody at that time. Right before I was getting married, I was in a relationship with an A+ actress, you know what I mean? And I had a beautiful Armenian speaking girlfriend at that time, you know what I mean? When I met Khlo\u00e9 so many things just fit naturally.\u201d<\/p>\n Kardashian, 42, and Odom tied the knot in 2009 before splitting four years later. In 2015, Kardashian put their divorce on hold to care for Odom after his overdose at a brothel. She filed for divorce for the second time the next year.<\/p>\n Odom reflected on their relationship<\/a> \u2014 and his overdose \u2014 in his Netflix documentary, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom<\/em>, which was released earlier this year. While promoting the series in April, Odom made headlines when he appeared on an episode of the Today<\/em> show and appeared to downplay Kardashian saving his life<\/a>.<\/p>\n When Jenna Bush Hager<\/strong> noted that Kardashian \u201cstood by\u201d his side and \u201csaved\u201d his life, he replied, \u201cIn some ways. God saved my life. My lord saved my life, honestly.\u201d<\/p>\n
