{"id":2494521,"date":"2026-07-09T05:28:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T05:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2494521"},"modified":"2026-07-09T05:28:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T05:28:36","slug":"how-macey-funded-his-new-album-once","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/how-macey-funded-his-new-album-once\/","title":{"rendered":"How MACEY Funded His New Album &#8216;ONCE&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MACEY is the latest guest on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/au.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rolling-stone-launches-making-music-making-ends-meet-series-96143\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Making Music, Making Ends Meet<\/em><\/a>, a series focused on ANZ musicians during the cost-of-living crisis.<\/p>\n<p>We interviewed the T\u0101maki Makaurau Auckland-based singer-songwriter shortly before the release of his new album <em>ONCE<\/em>, out now via FiveAM \/ Warner Music New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>MACEY took us behind the scenes of the making of his second album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHalf of the project was funded by NZ On Air through project funding, and the other half came from Warner as an advance,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo that gets everything started. A lot of that money goes towards recording, session musicians, artwork, and music videos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve made five videos already, and one more coming for the title track.
