Multiple songs from The Blueprint<\/em>, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & the Curse<\/em>, and 4:44<\/em> also appear on the playlist.<\/p>\n \n\tNas\u2019 picks were rounded out by a handful of Hov\u2019s collaborative efforts, including tracks from Watch The Throne<\/em> with Kanye West, as well as his and Jay\u2019s song \u201cBlack Republican\u201d from Nas\u2019 Hip Hop is Dead<\/em> album.<\/p>\n \n\tAccording to Tidal, the idea of Nas creating a playlist inspired by Jay-Z\u2019s career was both reciprocal and congratulatory.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cJA\u0178-Z and Nas are two of the most important, influential, and successful artists of any musical genre at any time in history,\u201d says Tidal\u2019s Editor-in-Chief Tony Gervino.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cA few years ago Jay recognized Nas\u2019s diabolical pen with an exclusive Tidal playlist, and on the eve of Hov\u2019s legendary run of Yankee Stadium shows, the king of Queens returns the favor, in what we consider to be the ultimate game-recognizes-game moment.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn 2021, as a sign of respect, Jay-Z unveiled his own 24-song playlist<\/a>, Curated By The God Hov: Nas<\/em>, featuring his favorite songs by his former rival<\/a>. However, Hov\u2019s selection style slightly differed from Nas\u2019 as half of the tracks were from Nas\u2019 first two albums. Illmatic<\/em>, Nas\u2019 historic debut album, topped the list with eight selections, while It Was Written<\/em>, his sophomore effort, spawned four tracks on the playlist.<\/p>\n \n\tHov\u2019s picks were rounded out by loose album cuts and standout Nas guest features, including his verses on Kanye West\u2019s \u201cWe Major,\u201d Raekwon\u2019s \u201cVerbal Intercourse, and Mobb Deep\u2019s \u201cEye for a Eye.\u201d<\/p>\n
