It\u2019s the most wonderful time of the year\u2026 well, almost! Christmas in July programming is back, so you can enjoy the themes of the holiday season without worrying about who you haven\u2019t purchased a present for yet.<\/p>\n
And one of this month\u2019s merry installments, as a part of Great American Christmas in July on GAF, is The Trouble With Mistletoe<\/em>, starring Jillian Murray<\/a> (who recently joined When Hope Calls<\/a><\/em>) and County Rescue<\/a><\/em>\u2018s Brett Varvel<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s like an appetizer for Christmas,\u201d says Murray of the popularity behind Christmas in July programming. \u201cIt gets you excited about what\u2019s coming up. And I think there is something about the preparation [being] just as exciting as the actual event.\u201d<\/p>\n In Mistletoe<\/em>, Murray plays\u00a0New York City acquisitions exec Victoria, who returns to her small New Jersey hometown on a mission. She must convince the recent buyer of the town\u2019s community center to sell the building to her company so they can renovate it into a fancy new space. The problem? The owner is Victoria\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9 Luke (Varvel) \u2014 and he is not<\/em> interested in losing his latest passion project to a big corp. \u201cThe conflict is immediate,\u201d teases Murray, who liked that the story wasn\u2019t driven by insta-love. \u201cHer goal is to get these papers signed, and usually the goal is to get the guy.\u201d<\/p>\n Initially, their meeting is downright frosty. \u201cHe knows her inside and out,\u201d Murray says. \u201cWhen I was reading [the script], I was thinking that he\u2019s the only one that seems to get under her skin. He\u2019s the only person that she can\u2019t be alpha with.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\tRelated\n\t\t<\/p>\n But eventually, their hearts will melt \u2014 and they even had some real-life Yuletide magic to help during shooting in New York. \u201cThere\u2019s a scene where [Victoria is] walking down the street and it actually started snowing,\u201d Murray, who was hiding a six-month baby bump during filming, tells us. \u201cThat\u2019s so rare for Christmas movies, we usually shoot in such weird seasons and weird times.
