The reality TV community has said goodbye to one of its own.<\/span><\/p>\n Cristina Sanz<\/strong>\u2014who appeared on all four seasons of the A&E show <\/span>Born This Way<\/span><\/em> about the lives of seven individuals living with Down syndrome\u2014died July 6, according to her family. She was 36.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our daughter, Cristina, passed away Monday morning,\u201d her family wrote on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a> July 8. \u201cShe suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while at her Day Program and was rushed to the hospital. Despite the doctors’ best efforts to stabilize her heart, she did not survive.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Though Sanz\u2019s family described her death as \u201cunexpected\u201d and \u201ca total shock,\u201d they said they were \u201cable to be by her side at the end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe will forever treasure the gift of her life,\u201d the family\u2019s statement concluded. \u201cWe will all carry in our hearts the wonderful \u2018Cristina moments\u2019 that she gave us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In the wake of Sanz\u2019s death, A&E also shared their condolences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
