She was 36 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Sanz\u2019s parents, Mariano and Beatriz, revealed to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/07\/08\/cristina-sanz-dead\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/07\/08\/cristina-sanz-dead\/\">TMZ<\/a> that she had began experiencing issues on Monday while attending her day program. Although she was rushed to a nearby hospital, she died not long after she was admitted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer death was a total shock and unexpected. We will forever treasure the gift of her life,\u201d Mariano and Beatriz shared in an <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DahnLN-Dt1Z\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DahnLN-Dt1Z\/\">Instagram<\/a> post. \u201cWe will all carry in our hearts the wonderful \u2018Cristina moments\u2019 that she gave us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A&amp;E also issued a statement about Sanz\u2019s sudden passing. \u201cWe are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Cristina Sanz, who touched the hearts of many through her time on\u00a0Born This Way. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sanz appeared on all four seasons of Born This Way. The show would eventually follow her relationship with then-boyfriend-turned-husband Angel Callahan. Their Beauty and the Beast-themed wedding was aired during one of the show\u2019s 2018 episodes. The show officially ended in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>However, the couple ultimately split in 2021, citing COVID-19 confinement as a key stressor to their relationship.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-born-this-way-fans-mourn-the-loss-of-cristina-sanz\">Born This Way Fans Mourn the Loss of Cristina Sanz<\/h2>\n<p>Following the news of Sanz\u2019s passing, Born This Way fans took to her Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m in shock she won every heart who watched the show,\u201d one fan wrote. \u201cMy deepest condolences to her family and friends. An Angel got her wings and will always be looking at her parents and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another fan posted, \u201cI am heartbroken to hear of your passing.. I will never forget meeting you and your Dad. You were both so kind to all of the kiddos and it made my day to get to chat with you. Sending all of my love to your family during this devastating time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other fans praised Sanz for being an inspiration to others. \u201cI was a huge fan on Born This Way,\u201d a fellow fan wrote. \u201cIt came out around the time I had a cousin born with down syndrome.
