Prince Harry<\/a>‘s decision to not fly to the UK with his wife and two children reportedly left one senior royal “furious” – especially as the visit could have seen a reunion between King Charles and his two youngest grandchildren. The King, 77, has not seen Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet since 2022 – with the Sussexes’ bitter feud with the royals likely the main reason for the lack of relationship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Archie, now aged seven, has spent very little time with his paternal grandfather before he moved to live in the US with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2020. Lilibet, unlike her brother, was born in California, and has only visited the UK once to attend celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Their last visit marked the King’s first in-person meeting with his youngest granddaughter – with the meeting described as “very emotional”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Harry was set to bring his wife and children to the UK with him this week, although, after being denied police protection, the decision was made for him to travel on his own. However this decision looks as though it may be up in the air again, with the possibility Meghan and the children could be making their way to Britain.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The decision not to bring them initially reportedly infuriated his aunt, Princess Anne, as her brother was left upset that he was unable to see his grandchildren.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to New Idea, a source said: “Anne is livid and can\u2019t bear to see the Royals be toyed with like this, not to mention the insult to their beloved country.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, sources close to Harry and Meghan said: “Once this trip was locked in, Meghan didn\u2019t publicly make clear what she was willing to commit to and whether she would even be bringing the kids back to the UK.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The publication added that Meghan was “reluctant” to commit herself to any engagements or meetings in the UK for one major reason.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

They added: “She feared she and Harry could be treated harshly by the press \u2013 and public \u2013 and so was reluctant to commit fully to a program of engagements or a meeting with any royals.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Harry is set to appear at the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham tomorrow, July 10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
