She said as much during an exclusive conversation with HelloBeautiful <\/em>backstage in New Orleans. A year after welcoming her daughter, Miyoco, the Grammy-nominated artist shared that life has felt like a whole \u201c180.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMotherhood changed me,\u201d Coi said when asked how she\u2019s balancing motherhood, music, and business.<\/p>\n
The growing mommy mogul continued, \u201cIt\u2019s like a total 180\u2014mentally, physically, emotionally.\u201d<\/p>\n
Coi\u2019s answer opened the door to a more honest conversation about what this season has looked like for her. Between motherhood, music, and life after giving birth, she spoke candidly about the changes fans may not always see.\u2019<\/p>\n
Coi Leray Gets Real About Postpartum<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Coi has shared pieces of her motherhood journey with fans online. In July 2025, she posted on X, \u201cBreastfeeding ain\u2019t no joke.\u201d<\/p>\n
During our conversation, she opened up even more.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpeaking of motherhood, a lot of people don\u2019t even know that I\u2019m going through postpartum,\u201d she told HB<\/em> \u201cAnd it\u2019s real.\u201d<\/p>\n
Music and Miyoco have been part of how she gets through it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat helps me through it is my music. It really is. And my baby girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

While in New Orleans, Coi debuted her new song, \u201cOutside,\u201d during Coca-Cola\u2019s Shine City activation at the 2026 Essence Festival<\/a><\/strong>. The record has the bounce of a song made for the summer, but Coi says the meaning comes from her life as a new mom.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Outside\u2019 was actually inspired because of new moms,\u201d she said. \u201cGrab a babysitter, girl. Take some time off work and get out here. Even if it\u2019s one weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n
During her set, Coi shouted out the new moms in the audience before performing a mix of fan favorites and remixes. She also brought in throwback energy with Kelis\u2019 \u201cMilkshake.\u201d<\/p>\n
Coi Leray Talks Style, Sex Appeal, And Skincare<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Coi also brought her signature style to the stage in a relaxed look that still felt very her.\u2019<\/p>\n
She wore a white Diesel crop top that showed off her slim stomach \u2014 because yes, we had to joke with her that she is basically the queen of the snapback. She paired the top with low-rise cargo pants and sneakers, keeping the look casual, sporty, and confident.<\/p>\n
Her style has always played with contrast, and she still sees that as part of her identity.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy style is very masculine, very feminine, and I have a lot of sex appeal,\u201d she said. \u201cBut the sex appeal is natural.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then\u00a0Coi\u00a0laughed and added, \u201cBut I do want to put on more clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n
When it comes to beauty, she keeps skincare at the top of the list.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy one thing would be skincare,\u201d she said. \u201cI love skincare. My makeup artist, my best friend Nico, says you always have to start with a base before you put makeup on. You have to start with that.\u201d<\/p>\n
