The Kultr\u00fan World Music Festival returns this weekend in Waterloo Park with music from all over the world. Isabel Cisterna, founder and artistic director of Neruda Arts, talks about the kinds of music people will experience and how the festival continues to grow.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\nWaterloo Rib and Beer Festival<\/h2>\n
Friday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\nRIM Park<\/strong><\/p>\nThere’s no spoilers here, the name gives it away. Enjoy ribs and beer plus more food and drink choices.<\/p>\n
There’s also live music all weekend including Just Jovi, a tribute to Bon Jovi, Street Survivors who cover Lynyrd Skynyrd songs and The Tragically Trip which, you guessed it, cover The Tragically Hip.<\/p>\n
Canada Celebrates, FIFA World Cup 2026 fan party\u00a0<\/h2>\n
Saturday at 3 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\nKitchener city hall<\/strong><\/p>\nThis is an official FIFA fan event and there will be soccer activities, skills challenges, music, food trucks and screens up for the games.<\/p>\n
Norway takes on England at 5 p.m., then Argentina and Switzerland hit the pitch at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n
Watch parties are also being held at the Kitchener Market and the Gaslight District in Cambridge.<\/p>\n
Hespeler Reunion\u00a0<\/h2>\n
Friday 11:30 a.m. to late, Saturday 10 a.m. to late, Sunday 9 a.m. to late<\/strong><\/p>\nForbes Park, Cambridge<\/strong><\/p>\nThis reunion invites current and past Hespeler residents (and people who just want to enjoy the vibe) to celebrate.<\/p>\n
There are so many events as part of this reunion: a midway, art show, pickleball, vendor and art market, kids area, hockey games, softball games, soapbox derby, live music, a dance, family activities, swimming and open houses. It all ends with a drone show Sunday evening.<\/p>\n
Bug Out<\/h2>\n
Sunday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\nK-W Optimist Club’s Camp Heidelberg, 2001 Kressler Road, Heidelberg<\/strong><\/p>\nWe’re not talking insects. This is a Volkswagen car show and it’s one of the largest in Ontario.<\/p>\n
Will a Herbie look-alike be on hand?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Held by the K-W and Area Bug Club, cars will be on display and people can check out the vendors.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Admission can be paid at the door in cash and organizers stress this is a cash only event.<\/p>\n
United in Voices Festival<\/h2>\n
Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\nPavilion in Kitchener’s Victoria Park<\/strong><\/p>\nThe Grand River Friendship Society is hosting this festival that will include dialogue sessions led by local youth, art and storytelling activities, live music and other performances including a concert by the Duende Kings.<\/p>\n
It’s all with the goal of promoting inclusion and giving people the chance to connect and learn from each other.<\/p>\n
