A star-studded celebration of Wes Anderson<\/a>‘s “Bottle Rocket” took a turn when the fire department had to be called earlier this week.<\/p>\n After an event marking the 30th anniversary of the film at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures<\/a> in Los Angeles Monday, July 6, the director, 57, along with the movie’s star Luke Wilson<\/a> and executive producer James L. Brooks<\/a> got trapped in an elevator together.<\/p>\n Actor and musician Robert Wallace, known as King Orba, was one of several others also in the elevator. He shared a video<\/a> of the group waiting a members of the Los Angeles Fire Department worked to force the doors open.<\/p>\n At one point, Wilson, 54, can be heard joking, “I was worried about having to go to the bathroom.” When they were finally released, they all let out loud cheers.<\/p>\n Anderson then asked the first responders what happened, and one speculated, “Probably had too much weight in there.” Anderson replied, “You think it was too much weight? OK, thank you very much.”<\/p>\n Wallace, who said they were stuck for about 45 minutes, told The New York Times<\/a> in an interview Wednesday, July 8, that they felt “this little shift” immediately when the elevator began to go down and realized it stopped between floors. Anderson proceeded to press the emergency button four times, Wallace said.<\/p>\n The firefighters ultimately used a hand crank to move the elevator, and Wallace told the outlet that the museum gave the everyone lifetime free passes in return.<\/p>\n Anderson made his feature-film debut with “Bottle Rocket,” which premiered in 1996 and starred brothers Luke and Owen Wilson<\/a>, who was also at the anniversary event, as well as Ned Dowd and Shea Fowler. Anderson and Owen Wilson cowrote the screenplay, while Cynthia Hargrave and Polly Platt served as producers.<\/p>\n The project launched a massively successful career for Anderson, who has since made numerous hits, including films “Rushmore,” “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox.”<\/p>\n He most recently directed\u00a0“The Phoenician,”<\/a> starring major names including Benicio del Toro<\/a>, Tom Hanks<\/a> and Scarlett Johansson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
