Chlo\u00eb Sevigny and Jennifer Garner had never met before they were cast to play childhood best friends in The Five Star Weekend<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n In a joint interview with PEOPLE, the costars recall their first impressions of each other and Sevigny admits she was emotional the first time she heard Garner in character as Hollis Shaw<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The Five Star Weekend<\/em> is now streaming on Peacock<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Chlo\u00eb Sevigny<\/a> couldn\u2019t hide her emotions on the set of The Five Star Weekend<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Sevigny, 51, stars in the Peacock series as Tatum, the childhood best friend of Hollis (Jennifer Garner<\/a>), who, while grieving her husband\u2019s sudden death, assembles her closest friends from throughout her life for a weekend at her Nantucket beach house.<\/p>\n Sevigny and Garner, 54, had never met before starring in the series, an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand\u2019s 2023 novel.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s wild that we hadn\u2019t met, because we have circled each other,\u201d Garner tells PEOPLE in a joint interview with Sevigny. \u201cI can think of roles where I was up for and ended up going to you, or we could have been together and something. … We\u2019ve both been around a minute.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe kind of entered [the industry] almost at the same time,\u201d Sevigny says.<\/p>\n They met for the first time at the table read for the series. \u201cI was very nervous,\u201d Garner admits.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very suburban emotionally and the opposite of urban cool \u2014 and Chlo\u00eb is the face of urban cool. That\u2019s who and what she is. She\u2019s Doc Martens. I\u2019m Brooks running shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n Sevigny also felt a mix of emotions the first time she met Garner. \u201cI was very excited at the table read just to hear the words, just to hear Jen owning the words, because as soon as I read it and they had told me that Jen was attached, I was like, \u2018There\u2019s nobody else that can play this part, and she is going to kill it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn that first table read, I was moved to tears, practically,\u201d Sevigny recalls. \u201cThat part was in her, and I knew that she was setting a tone for how the rest of the show is going to go, and I was so excited.\u201d<\/p>\n Garner and Sevigny star alongside Regina Hall<\/a>, D\u2019Arcy Carden<\/a> and Gemma Chan<\/a> in the series, and the whole group of actresses \u2014 none of whom had met before they were cast \u2014 bonded quickly on set.<\/p>\n \u201cMy biggest hope and wish is that we get to do a second season of this show so that we can go in knowing each other as well as we do now,\u201d Garner says. \u201cAlthough we became very close very quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n Sevigny says the cast bonding in real-time \u201ckind of worked to our advantage, in a way,\u201d as it paralleled the show itself.
