{"id":2497044,"date":"2026-07-10T20:44:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T20:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2497044"},"modified":"2026-07-10T20:44:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T20:44:08","slug":"discover-downtown-returns-july-18-with-shopping-entertainment-and-family-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/discover-downtown-returns-july-18-with-shopping-entertainment-and-family-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Discover Downtown returns July 18 with shopping, entertainment and family fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">By Brandi Makuski<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">STEVENS POINT \u2014 Downtown Stevens Point will once again be filled with shoppers, live music and family activities when Discover Downtown returns Saturday, July 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving residents and visitors a chance to explore local businesses, browse sidewalk sales, enjoy live entertainment and visit the Farmers Market while spending the day in the city\u2019s historic downtown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Families will find activities throughout the event, including a Kidz Zone near Strongs Avenue featuring chalk art, games and other hands-on activities for children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">One of the day\u2019s biggest attractions returns at noon with the annual Ping Pong Drop. Hundreds of prize-filled ping pong balls will be dropped from the roof of Graffiti\u2019s Sports Pub, giving attendees the chance to collect discounts, prizes and special offers from participating downtown businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cDiscover Downtown is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the businesses, people and energy that make downtown Stevens Point such a special place,\u201d event coordinator Kris Carne said. \u201cWe invite the community to come downtown, shop local, enjoy the entertainment, and spend the day with family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Several downtown streets will close to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. to make room for the event. Main Street will be closed between Church Street and the Square, along with portions of Strongs Avenue and Third Street.
