\u201cDaily Show\u201d<\/a> correspondent Ronny Chieng<\/a> on Thursday ruthlessly mocked the two progressive political consultants responsible for recruiting the now-disgraced Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner.<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Reacting to a Wall Street Journal interview with Daniel Moraff and Leanne Fan<\/a>, the duo responsible for originally finding Platner, Chieng couldn\u2019t help but take some jabs during several awkward moments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIs this guy going through puberty in real time?\u201d Chieng said, mocking Moraff\u2019s voice cracking during the interview. \u201cBut, hey, grown-up McLovin and the lady who runs a cat cafe, they\u2019re professionals, right? How did they shit the bed so hard?\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chieng then played a clip from the interview, where Fan can be seen laughing when asked how they went about vetting Platner before launching him onto the national stage. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An exasperated Chieng rubbed his eyes in frustration at the clip, before asking: \u201cHow are these people the kingmakers?\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThis is why we need to stop taking political advice from Dungeons and Dragons polycules,\u201d Chieng added. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added that Moraff and Fan were seemingly more concerned with finding a candidate who \u201clooked like an authentic Maine man\u201d than doing their \u201cdue diligence.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Platner announced on Wednesday he would drop out of the race<\/a> for Senate after facing multiple allegations of sexual assault. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
