The trophy<br \/>\npresentation is a longstanding part of the Championships, with the<br \/>\nPrincess congratulating both the champion and the runner-up before<br \/>\nthe winner lifted the famous Venus Rosewater Dish.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving at Centre Court, the Princess of Wales received a<br \/>\nstanding ovation from the Wimbledon crowd, which once more seemed<br \/>\nto take her by surprise as it continued several moments after she<br \/>\nfirst tried to sit down. Less than an hour later,<br \/>\nninth seed Noskova was celebrating after closing out the the<br \/>\ndeciding set 6-3 and winning her first Grand Slam title.<\/p>\n<p>After the final point had been played , it was Kate\u2019s turn to<br \/>\ntake to the court and she spent some time talking to some of the<br \/>\nballboys and boygirls who traditionally make up a guard of honour<br \/>\nfor the presentation party as they make their way on to Centre<br \/>\nCourt.<\/p>\n<p>As the presentation ceremony got under way, and with the famous<br \/>\nVenus Rosewater Dish displayed beside her, the Princess first<br \/>\ncongratulated the runner-up, Karolina Muchova, offering warm words<br \/>\nof encouragement and recognition for an outstanding tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The moment then arrived for the champion to receive the coveted<br \/>\ntrophy. As LindaNoskova, still emotional, stepped forward, the<br \/>\nPrincess presented the Venus Rosewater Dish with a broad smile. Then she headed to<br \/>\nthe outside courts with the first match watched by the Patron of<br \/>\nthe All England Tennis Club this year featuring a certain Arthur<br \/>\nFery, the British wildcard entrant who ended up going all the way<br \/>\nto the semi-finals with Queen Camilla watching his famous quarter<br \/>\nfinal win and giving him a standing ovation.<\/p>\n<p>The Princess of Wales also took part in \u2018Overheard at Wimbledon\u2019<br \/>\nwhere she shared details of her recent \u2018Three Peaks Challenge\u2019 with<br \/>\nTim Henman.<\/p>\n<p>Her appearance at Wimbledon also symbolises continuity and<br \/>\ntradition.
