Available now: Sign up here<\/a> for the best food, drink and entertainment coverage in Stanislaus County. <\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n A special group of performers will \u201cLet It Go\u201d on the Gallo Center stage in Modesto.<\/p>\n YES Company (Youth Entertainment Stage Company) will present its annual production, this summer taking on \u201cDisney\u2019s Frozen The Broadway Musical.\u201d<\/p>\n The show runs July 23-26 at the downtown venue. It features students in grades seven through 12 in the YES program, guided by the Gallo Center\u2019s arts education team, in partnership with the Stanislaus County Office of Education.<\/p>\n The story tells of princesses Anna and Elsa, who grow up sheltered in their castle. \u201cWhen Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she\u2019s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains,\u201d according to the Gallo Center website.<\/p>\n When a severe winter hits their home of Arendelle, Anna sets off on a journey to find Elsa, along with snowman Olaf, ice harvester Kristoff and his reindeer, Sven.<\/p>\n The production is based on Disney\u2019s Academy Award-winning animated film “Frozen\u201d and includes its beloved songs \u2014 chief among them \u201cLet It Go\u201d \u2014 and music written for the stage version.<\/p>\n YES Company is an audition-based youth theater company directed and designed by Modesto region theater professionals. A seven-week preparation process combines training with curriculum-based performing arts to help students develop their individual craft alongside their peers, according to the Gallo Center website<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough this ensemble work, students build community through trust, acceptance, and celebration of differences as they work toward a common goal,\u201d the site says.<\/p>\n YES Company was founded in 1992 by the county\u2019s office of education with artistic director Melanee Wyatt. The Gallo Center joined forces with the county to take over instruction in 2018 when Wyatt retired.<\/p>\n \u201cFrozen\u201d will be presented in the Mary Stuart Rogers Theater at the Gallo Center, 1000 I St., Modesto. Showtimes are 7 p.m. July 23-24, 2 p.m. July 25-26.<\/p>\n
