Noah Kahan was\u00a0recently inducted\u00a0into the Fenway Music Hall of Fame following his historic four-night run at Boston’s iconic Fenway Park, becoming just the fourth artist to receive the honor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The surprise announcement came during the final\u00a0night\u00a0of Kahan’s shows, making an already unforgettable night even more emotional for the Vermont native.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of the highlights of Kahan’s Fenway shows has been a recurring segment in which he answers a ringing payphone onstage, leading to humorous conversations with surprise\u00a0\u201ccallers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On the final night, however, the caller was someone much closer to home\u2014his mother, Lauri Berkenkamp. Appearing on the\u00a0stadium’s\u00a0JumboTron, she congratulated her son on becoming the first artist ever to sell out four consecutive nights at Fenway Park before revealing the big news.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Berkenkamp said<\/a>, \u201cIt’s\u00a0mom.\u00a0I’m\u00a0so proud of you, and I hope\u00a0you’ve\u00a0had as much fun here at Fenway as I have. I\u00a0can’t\u00a0believe\u00a0you’re\u00a0the only artist to ever sell out four consecutive nights at Fenway Park, but\u00a0I’m\u00a0not surprised. I knew you could do it.\u00a0I’ve\u00a0known all along.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I also have some news to share. On behalf of Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox, you are officially\u00a0being inducted\u00a0into the Fenway Music Hall of Fame. Congratulations. You know how much I love you and how proud I am of you,” she announced, leaving Kahan visibly stunned.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

With the induction, Kahan joins an elite group that includes Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, and Zac Brown Band\u2014the only\u00a0previous\u00a0recipients of the Fenway Music Hall of Fame honor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kahan, who was left speechless, needed to overcome his surprise since the introduction to his next song, \u201cShe Calls\u00a0Me Back,\u201d already started playing. \u201cWell\u00a0that’s f***ing\u00a0cool, huh? Gotta move on from that, I guess, like nothing f***ing\u00a0happened,\u201d\u00a0he said jokingly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A Historic Week in Boston\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The Hall of Fame induction\u00a0wasn’t\u00a0the only recognition Kahan received during his record-setting run. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey also declared July 11 as “Noah Kahan Day” in honor of his contributions to music and his historic achievement at Fenway Park.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kahan will continue\u00a0The Great Divide Tour<\/em>\u00a0with upcoming performances in Chicago, New York, and\u00a0additional\u00a0North American dates before heading overseas later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
