Every week, 88Nine music director Erin Wolf shares a sonic gem she found using her nearly 20 years of new-music exploration experience. You can hear all her discoveries live on 88Nine at 10 p.m. every Monday on <\/i>What\u2019s All This: Adventures in New Music<\/u><\/b><\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n Manchester garage-y indie-rock quartet Westside Cowboy recently shared a fan favorite called \u201cPin Up Boys\u201d from their forthcoming debut, It Goes On<\/i>. The band\u2019s edgy energy is rooted in pop but goes beyond those structures. You\u2019ll hear a little Brit-pop (a la Teenage Fanclub) and a little American-influenced indie rock (like Parquet Courts).<\/p>\n They shared that the new single \u201cwas written \u2026 using an acoustic guitar, a drum machine sample pad and some screwdrivers as drumsticks.\u201d They also revealed that \u201cit is by far the longest-serving song on the album and the one that we have played the most live, which was a blessing and a curse when we came to record \u2026 after realising this song was set in its ways.\u201d<\/p>\n It Goes On<\/i> will come out Aug. 21 via Island Records, and \u201cPin Up Boys\u201d is right here on this episode of What\u2019s All This<\/i>, which is available via the player at the top of the page.
