Octomom Natalie ‘Nadya’ Suleman<\/a> is feeling all the love from her family on her milestone birthday.<\/p>\n On Monday, July 13, Suleman shared a post on Instagram<\/a> in honor of her 50th birthday featuring throwback photos of her 14 children. In the caption for her post, the proud mom praised her children, her daughter-in-law and granddaughter for making her feel “so special” on her milestone birthday.<\/p>\n “Thank you to all my 14 kids, my daughter in law and granddaughter, for making me feel so special on my birthday yesterday,” she began her caption. “Though this past year has been one of the most challenging seasons of my life, I’ll at least know that my beautiful family will always be here to love and support me at my highest and lowest points. I love you all so much \u2764\ufe0f.”<\/p>\n She added, “And a special thank you to my two lovely daughters Maliyah and Nariyah @solomontwins2009<\/a>.”<\/p>\n In 2009, Suleman was implanted with 12 embryos by Dr. Michael Kamrava, a Beverly Hills fertility specialist who oversaw her previous IVF treatments. Out of that dozen, Suleman became pregnant with eight babies and made history by giving birth to the first-ever surviving octuplets, earning her the nickname Octomom.<\/p>\n Suleman was already a mother of six children \u2014 Amerah, Calyssa, Elijah, Caleb, Joshua and Aidan \u2014 when she gave birth to her octuplets: Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, Makai, Maliyah and Nariyah.<\/p>\n Her incredible story quickly took a turn, as the world learned more about her controversial journey to motherhood. Many questioned and condemned her motives as a single mother who’d had numerous IVF treatments prior and was already struggling to get by before welcoming the octuplets.<\/p>\n During an interview with PEOPLE in January 2025, Suleman said being at the center of public ire was “complete pandemonium.”<\/a><\/p>\n “There was of course all of the details of the death threats and fearing for my family’s life,” she explained. “And then on the other hand, I had to continue to sacrifice my integrity repeatedly to survive and provide for my family.”<\/p>\n
