Rancho Cucamonga, California’s Cold Gawd bring a serious sense of confidence to their heavy shoegaze, and we’re about to get another dose of it. We picked Cold Gawd’s 2024 full-length I\u2019ll Drown On This Earth<\/em> as an Album Of The Week<\/a>, and they followed it with the singles “Golden Postcard<\/a>” and “Bomb Pop<\/a>.” Next month, they’ll drop a new EP called Glory2<\/em> on us.<\/p>\n Cold Gawd recorded the Glory2<\/em> EP with producer Max Mercier after touring heavily behind I\u2019ll Drown On This Earth<\/em>. The new record includes “Bomb Pop,” and it’s also got the new single “Grease,” which is not a Frankie Valli cover. Instead, it’s a guttural blissout that, at its stormiest moment, takes on a bit of hardcore stomp. Is it possible to swagger while gazing at your shoes? Because that’s what this song does.
