On the same day Travis Kelce married Taylor Swift, another familiar face from the couple’s relationship history made a surprise appearance.<\/p>\n
Prince William showed up in a teaser for the July 3 episode of <\/a>New Heights<\/em><\/a>, with Jason Kelce delivering one of his signature over-the-top introductions before welcoming “His Royal Highness, Prince William” to the podcast. Travis could barely contain his excitement, cheering and clapping as the Prince of Wales appeared on screen.<\/p>\n William has been part of Travis and Taylor’s story ever since he attended Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in June 2024 with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, leading to one of the tour’s most memorable backstage moments.<\/p>\n That royal backstage meeting later became the source of one of Swift’s favorite stories to tell. She later shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story about her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s brother Jason meeting Prince William and his kids \u2014 and it involves an unexpected dilemma over beer.<\/p>\n The moment happened at Swift’s London Eras Tour stop last summer, when the Prince of Wales brought Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, to see the show (without Kate Middleton or Prince Louis in tow). Swift offered to introduce the trio to Jason backstage \u2014 and quickly noticed he was having a minor panic.<\/p>\n “He was like, ‘What do I do with my beer?'” Travis recalled on the August 13 episode of his and Jason’s New Heights podcast, where Swift was the blockbuster surprise guest and famously announced her new album.<\/p>\n Swift jumped in, mimicking Jason clutching his drink. “I watched him have this moment where he was like, ‘But I want to take it, but I know that I probably should not take it.’ I watched this happen, and it kind of was the most amazing\u2026”<\/p>\n Jason admitted she nailed it. “That was exactly what was going through my head,” he said. “Like if I don’t have my beer, what do I do with my hand now?”<\/p>\n “Is it disrespectful to have a beer when you meet royalty?” Jason wondered aloud. Swift countered, “Or is it authentic? Wouldn’t they want me to be myself?”<\/p>\n The backstage meeting ended with Swift and Travis posing for what became one of the defining photos of their relationship: a smiling selfie with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte that also marked Swift’s first official Instagram post featuring Travis.<\/p>\n Watch the whole podcast here:<\/p>\n Now, two years later, that royal connection has come full circle.
