Royal Northern College of Music<\/a> (RNCM) has announced six new appointments, including sopranos Amanda Roocroft and Anna Devin as Professors of Voice.<\/p>\nAdditionally, Anne Le Bozec and Joseph Middleton join as International Visiting Professors of Piano (Collaborative), Richard Stokes joins the School of Vocal Studies and Opera as a guest tutor, and German pianist Uta Weyand joins as International Visiting Professor in the School of Keyboard Studies.<\/p>\n
Roocroft, an RNCM alumna, has performed leading roles at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, the Metropolitan Opera, the Paris Op\u00e9ra, and the Bayerische Staatsoper across a 30 year performing career. Devin, an alumna of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the National Opera Studio, has taught at the Royal Academy of Music and the Irish National Opera Studio.<\/p>\n
Middleton currently serves as Artistic Director of Leeds Song and Professor of Ensemble Piano at the Royal Academy of Music. Le Bozec teaches at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Paris and is joint Artistic Director of the F\u00eates Musicales de l\u2019Aubrac festival. Weyand is founder and artistic director of the Pianale festival in Fulda, Germany, and serves on juries for competitions including the Van Cliburn and Hamamatsu.<\/p>\n
Stokes, currently Professor of Lieder at the Royal Academy of Music, will join as a guest tutor for the Jos\u00e9 and Rafton Smallwood Masterclass Series in September. He has translated \u201cWozzeck,\u201d \u201cParsifal,\u201d \u201cLulu,\u201d \u201cL\u2019Amour de Loin,\u201d and \u201cJakob Lenz\u201d for companies including Opera North and English National Opera.<\/p>\n
