TTSSFU<\/a> has spoken about the potential for new music and shaking self-doubt. Watch the full video interview above.<\/p>\n The Mancunian singer (real name Tamsin Stephens) spoke to us at Mad Cool Festival<\/a>, where she gave an update on future new music. Her latest project was \u2018Blown\u2019, which she dropped last August.<\/p>\n Speaking to NME<\/em>, she said of her upcoming material: \u201cI would say it\u2019s a lot more synthy, and I\u2019m trying to really connect what I do next with what I\u2019m about passionate about \u2013 not that the past hasn\u2019t, but [to] go back to my roots of what inspired me.<\/p>\n \u201cI went a little more guitar-based on the last EP, so now I\u2019m going back to dream-pop.\u201d<\/p>\n She cited Robyn<\/a> as a major inspiration for her new music (\u201cReally loved her new album, I just think it\u2019s incredible\u201d), along with Caroline Polachek<\/a>. She added that films like I Saw The TV Glow<\/em><\/a> also served as inspiration, telling us: \u201cThat film blew my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n Stephens confirmed that she had made a synth-pop album following the release of \u2018Blown\u2019, adding that a track from that collection of songs will be on her upcoming record.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of really special stuff that\u2019s on that, and I keep pinching things from it,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt was just an experiment, and I absolutely loved it. It was flawed in many ways, but I would say it inspired me to do what I\u2019m going to do next.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to admit that shaking off the pressure following the release of \u2018Blown\u2019 \u201ctook a while\u201d, telling NME<\/em>: \u201cI\u2019d say that\u2019s the whole reason it\u2019s taken me so long to get back to it, figure out what I actually want to do.<\/p>\n \u201cSeeing other bands and touring with other bands, which I\u2019d never done myself, I was doubting my own music and if it was exciting enough. I\u2019ve gone back to thinking it is \u2013 don\u2019t need to be too rock \u2018n\u2019 roll.\u201d<\/p>\n Stephens concluded by speaking about her upcoming tour with Blondshell<\/a>, saying: \u201cI\u2019m really excited. We\u2019ve spoken on DMs and she seems really nice. It\u2019s gonna be fun\u201d.
