Savannah Guthrie revealed she is taking time off from the Today<\/em> show<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Guthrie will be working on a new project while she’s away for several weeks<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n “We’re going to lose you for a minute, though,” Craig Melvin said, expressing excitement for Guthrie’s new project<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Savannah Guthrie<\/a> will be temporarily stepping away from her Today<\/em> show duties.\u00a0<\/p>\n The co-anchor, 54, announced on the Thursday, July 16 broadcast of Today<\/em> that she’ll be off for the next “few” weeks to film a new project.<\/p>\n “We’re about to do it. Guys, I’m headed over to shoot Wordle<\/em> over the next few weeks,” Guthrie confirmed of hosting the game show, which will be executive produced by Jimmy Fallon<\/a>. “We’re going to shoot the whole season and we’re super excited.”<\/p>\n She added, “I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It’ll probably air, I think, in the new year.”<\/p>\n Guthrie’s colleagues also raved about the project, with Carson Daly<\/a> saying he “can’t wait” and Sheinelle Jones<\/a> calling it “full circle” after remembering “when Wordle<\/em> hit the Today<\/em> show and we became obsessed.”<\/p>\n “We’re going to lose you for a minute, though,” Craig Melvin noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n In an Instagram caption, Today<\/em> confirmed Guthrie will be “off for a few weeks” to film the game show.
