Carly Rae Jepsen<\/a> is back with \u201cAfter All,\u201d the latest new song off her upcoming double album\u00a0Day and Night<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n With a soft, soulful approach \u2014 think Jungle or Khruangbin \u2014 \u201cAfter All\u201d leaves any sense of pop sheen behind for a sound that feels warm, lived in, and luxurious. Jepsen coos over skittering drums and delicate piano touches, with a backing choir eventually rising in for the song\u2019s light, lively chorus; they provide some extraverted energy, but overall, \u201cAfter All\u201d is more about the subtle glow that Jepsen conjures. The song also arrives with a music video featuring a very pregnant Jepsen reveling in sunlight as she reflects on a prior night\u2019s dinner party; the video was filmed prior to the birth of Jepsen\u2019s daughter in March of this year.
