You had to really work to hear <em>S<em>OTC (\u201cII\u201d)<\/em><\/em>, since the LP has never appeared on a streaming service or anything. Instead, it was only available as a $50 DVD that you could buy from some guy with a bag full of them in Times Square on 9\/11. That was it. It was the only way. But that&#8217;s about to change, since <em><em>S<em>OTC (\u201cII\u201d)<\/em><\/em><\/em> will now get a proper release this year on 9\/11, exactly one year after that sketchy DVD sale.<\/p>\n<p><em>S<em>OTC (\u201cII\u201d)<\/em><\/em> includes &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2501045\/standing-on-the-corner-gimme-my-gun-show-me-the\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gimme My Gun<\/a>,&#8221; a track that the group released as a single last month, and it&#8217;s also got collaborators like Solange, Danny Brown, the Lox&#8217;s Styles P, and Digable Planets&#8217; Ladybug Mecca. Today, they&#8217;ve shared two more way-out psychedelic lo-fi funk tracks: &#8220;Mr. Postman, wait!,&#8221; which is on <em>S<em>OTC (\u201cII\u201d)<\/em><\/em>, and &#8220;Splitting Moonlight.&#8221; which is not.<\/p>\n<p>Solange apparently had something to do with &#8220;Mr. Postman, wait!&#8221; She&#8217;s in the YouTube credits like this: &#8220;Unknown: Solange Knowles,&#8221; though she&#8217;s not listed as a featured artist, as she is on album track &#8220;Sonia.&#8221; Is it possible that Solange sings the lead vocal on &#8220;Mr. Postman, wait!&#8221;? There&#8217;s distortion all over it, so it&#8217;s hard to say, but I guess it could be her. Previously Standing On The Corner did work on a bunch of tracks from her 2019 album <em>When I Get Home<\/em>.
