Lucknow: Ayodhya<\/a> is set to get a 150-bed multi-specialty cancer hospital-cum-institute on six acres of land to be donated by the town\u2019s erstwhile royal family. The project will be developed by the Namo Cancer Care Foundation in association with the Ayodhya Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) and is expected to become operational within two years.The land, located in Darshan Nagar, will be gifted to ACCF on July 29, coinciding with Guru Purnima, in memory of former Ayodhya royal and permanent member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Raja Bimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, who passed away in August last year.Family members said the six-acre parcel is free of encumbrances and is being transferred through a gift deed without any monetary transaction. The deed will be signed by Bimalendra Mishra\u2019s son, Yatindra Mohan Pratap Mishra, and his brother, Shailendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, in the presence of directors of the foundation.The foundation stone for the project is expected to be laid within three months of the land transfer, after which construction will begin. A person associated with the planning of the project said the entire facility is likely to be completed within two years.\u201cThis hospital is a tribute to my father\u2019s memory and to the values he lived by \u2014 compassion, service and care for those in need,\u201d Yatindra Mohan Pratap Mishra said.The site has been chosen for its strategic location and accessibility. Situated off the Ayodhya-Ambedkar Nagar road, it is about 5 km from Devkali intersection on the Lucknow-Ayodhya-Gorakhpur national highway, making it easily accessible for patients from across the Awadh region.The proposed facility is part of the Namo Cancer Access Network\u2019s efforts to expand affordable and quality cancer treatment infrastructure in underserved regions.\u201cCancer touches countless families across the region, often forcing them to travel great distances for treatment. It is our family\u2019s earnest hope that this institution will bring world-class, affordable and dignified cancer care closer to home, in the sacred land of Ayodhya,\u201d Yatindra said. He also thanked chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his guidance and encouragement in facilitating the project.The family will also organise a prayer ceremony in Ayodhya on July 29. Besides Ayodhya, the hospital is expected to serve patients from neighbouring districts including Gonda, Bahraich, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Basti, Shravasti and Pratapgarh.<\/div>\n
