The Detroit rapper has made a name for himself by quick-releasing hyper topical songs.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Detroit’s favorite hyper topical rapper is back with a new song about Detroit’s poor air conditions.<\/p>\n\n

On Thursday, Gmac Cash released a new song about the haze hanging over the city due to the Canadian wildfires. The Motor City has the most polluted air in the world, according to a Swiss air quality technology company<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Naturally, Cash had to weigh in.<\/p>\n

“I can’t go outside ‘cuz the air (b—h)\/ I can’t even breath ‘cuz the air,” Cash raps on the quickie song, which he released Thursday on Instagram. “I can’t even pump my gas in the air. What the f— going on with the air?”<\/p>\n

It’s not the first time the rapper has weighed in on a breaking news subject.<\/p>\n

Gmac Cash, born Gerald Allen, has made a name for himself by cranking out songs about headlines in the news, from COVID-19 to Gretchen Whitmer to the city’s sports teams.<\/p>\n\n

“Pistons Won Again” has become an anthem every time the Pistons win a game, and he also has similar songs for the Detroit Lions (“Lions Won Again”) and Tigers (“Tigers Won Again”).<\/p>\n

In 2024, he released a song making fun of the Detroit sign<\/a> installed ahead of the city hosting the NFL Draft, and quickly followed it up with a sequel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

The air quality song clocks in at just 1 minute and 40 seconds, so it quickly gets to the point.<\/p>\n

“The news said talking ’bout don’t go outside ‘cuz the air bad\/ s— can hit you hard like you got hit with an airbag,” he raps.<\/p>\n

The song ends with a plea to make the very song he just made. “We’ve been needing a song about this fog since yesterday<\/em> bro!” a voice says. (When you live by the news cycle, 24 hours can seem like an entire lifetime.)<\/p>\n\n

Alas, Cash lets his listeners know he’s always dialed in, and will keep them abreast of the latest issues.<\/p>\n

“You can always listen to Gmac if you don’t watch the news,” he raps, “I’ma let you know what’s going on if you ain’t got a clue.”<\/p>\n
