\u201cJurassic Park\u201d star Sam Neill died<\/a> of pneumonia, a representative confirmed on Thursday. <\/p>\n The actor, who was 78 when he died on Sunday in Sydney, will be honored in a private family memorial on his farm in New Zealand at a \u201clater date,\u201d his agent, Philip Grenz, told Page Six.<\/p>\n \u201cSam passed away from pneumonia,\u201d Grenz said. \u201cPrior to becoming sick, Sam had valiantly fought and beaten lymphoma through a new treatment called CAR-T therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n Grenz said he disclosed details about Neill\u2019s cause of death after consulting with the actor\u2019s family and following news reports \u201cwhich contain inaccuracies and outright falsehoods.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that Neill had completed four projects \u201cback-to-back\u201d over the past year that are expected to be released in the coming months.<\/p>\n \u201cAs Sam was an intensely private man who loathed a fuss, his family will honor him with a private family memorial at his farm in New Zealand at a still-undetermined later date,\u201d Grenz said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d like to thank those who were truly close to Sam for considering his privacy with the respect he earned and his loved ones need and deserve during this immeasurably difficult time,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The actor\u2019s former \u201cHunt for the Wilderpeople\u201d co-star Rima Te Wiata said this week that Neill had been battling pneumonia before he died<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt really sucks, actually,\u201d Te Wiata told the New Zealand Herald<\/a>. \u201cI think he would be like: \u2018For goodness sake, I got over my cancer. And now look, now I get pneumonia. What next?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s on his big journey now,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
