Check out their top picks and a list of this week\u2019s other releases, and listen to their full conversation using the player on this page or on the 88Nine airwaves at 1 p.m. every Friday.<\/i><\/p>\n Unwittingly, we\u2019re straying from stateside releases this Friday, instead opting for two from the U.K., one from Australia and one from Sweden. Maybe it\u2019s summer travel vibes that have us dreaming of getting outta here and cruising to somewhere new? Even if it\u2019s just in our headphones, this sort of travel is still gratifying!<\/p>\n On the U.K. side of things, we have a brand new full-length from the playful Nia Archives. And if you like your British vibes a little more rock-oriented, look no further than Yard Act\u2019s newest which hits harder than anything they\u2019ve released to date.<\/p>\n If you love the vibes of Courtney Barnett and Julia Jacklin, check out Winspear Records\u2019 newest Aussie signees, Swapmeet, who share their delightfully dear and catchy compositions. Finally, we go full on fangirl with Robyn as we venture into her Complete Body Talk<\/i> release. The Swede has been on fire lately, and this only fans those flames hotter.<\/p>\n Happy New Music Friday!<\/p>\n Nia Archives, <\/b>Emotional Junglist<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n The British musician, DJ, producer and filmmaker is back with her newest album, which sees her dip a toe further into a wide pool of genres and sounds.<\/p>\n Archives said she dropped the tempo a bit and was influenced by \u201990s electronica, Bjork and Madonna\u2019s Ray of Light<\/i> era, but there are also some mainstream pop and rock moments in this one. Erin first became a fan of her upbeat and dance-y qualities, and thinks it\u2019ll be interesting to hear her branch out this way. She also has some great collabs, including faves Sampha and Jorja Smith.<\/p>\n Vinyl variants abound for this one: a standard black, a black-and-white marble version, a smoke-and-shell picture disc, and an apparently sold-out \u201cBad World Exclusive,\u201d which is sand\/crushed sea-shell filled.<\/p>\n Yard Act, <\/b>You\u2019re Gonna Need a Little Music<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n The rock quartet is back with their third full-length, which includes lead single \u201cRedeemer,\u201d an extra intense and salty track that got us excited for the full project.<\/p>\n Frontman James Smith is a really mesmerizing performer on stage, as we can attest from the band\u2019s Studio Milwaukee Session. But he\u2019s equally so in the studio, combined with the full band\u2019s post\/dance-punk vibes and wit. He shared that \u201cthe first two records were both laptop records essentially\u201d and that this record \u201cwas made, for the first time, as a band playing together in a room.\u201d<\/p>\n They sound great on both versions of vinyl available today: a red smoke and a standard black, out on ATO and available at the shops.<\/p>\nBest new albums out July 17<\/h3>\n
