Slipknot<\/a> are working on a new album with producer Matt Wallace, and have \u201cso much material\u201d to draw from.<\/p>\n That\u2019s according to guitarist Jim Root, who shared an update on the masked metal band during an interview with Ben Giese on the Ride Bynd<\/em><\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n He confirmed that Slipknot had teamed up with Wallace, who has previously worked with the likes of Faith No More<\/a>, Deftones<\/a>, The Replacements<\/a>, Maroon 5<\/a> and Train<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re working with Matt Wallace right now to write this stuff \u2013 and there\u2019s times where we just kind of sit back, and we\u2019re listening to what I just worked on, and I\u2019m just like, \u2018Wow, this is wild\u2019,\u201d Root explained (via Consequence<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n As for the style of Slipknot\u2019s new material, the musician said it \u201csounds like nothing I\u2019ve ever heard before, yet there\u2019s a familiarity to it that feels like I\u2019ve been listening to it my whole life\u201d.<\/p>\n He went on to describe the songs as \u201cso organic\u201d, adding: \u201cIt\u2019s just Slipknot music.\u201d<\/p>\n Later, Root discussed the large amount of new music Slipknot currently have under their belt. He said they had created this by jamming and making parts via recording, before arranging the work into completed pieces.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have so, so, so, so much material \u2013 probably at least 50 arrangements. I\u2019m not saying they\u2019re all full songs, and they all need work,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n
