With the benefit of hindsight, each of us know that Pete Davidson<\/a> has gone on to achieve an incredibly successful career in the mainstream entertainment industry.<\/p>\n Upon his early tenure atSaturday Night Live<\/a><\/em>,<\/em> however, the fan-favorite comedian revealed some initially tense encounters with prominent guest stars, one of whom even tried to get him ousted from the show.<\/p>\n In a stand-up performance<\/a> for Netflix<\/a><\/em> Is a Joke<\/em>, Davidson alleged that prominent comedian Louis C.K. once butted heads with the young SNL<\/em> guest star during C.K.’s hosting stint in 2015, resulting in the older comedian attempting to get Davidson fired from the show.<\/p>\n “So Louis C.K. tried to get me fired from SNL<\/em> my first year, and this is that story,” Davidson opened by saying.<\/p>\n According to Davidson, he was personally thrilled to have a comedian as well-respected and talented as C.K. host Saturday<\/a> Night Live, calling him “someone that you would look up to and want approval of at the time.”<\/p>\n During C.K.’s appearance on the show, however, Davidson unknowingly earned the ire of the six-time Emmy winner by smoking marijuana backstage, leading C.K. to berate Davidson in front of the show’s cast and crew members.<\/p>\n “He looks up and points at me and goes, ‘Look how f**king high Pete is! That f**king idiot, just getting f**king high at work, you stupid f**k! You’re going to smoke your career away, idiot!'” Davidson recalled.<\/p>\n At the time, Davidson shrugged off the incident. But upon returning to SNL<\/em>‘s offices, he was asked to meet with producer Lorne Michaels<\/a>.<\/p>\n “So I go to work the next day and I get a phone call from Lorne Michaels office,” Davidson said. “This was alarming because I’ve been there for a year and I have yet to hear from his office until today.”<\/p>\n “He’s like, ‘I’m sorry we’re having this conversation.
