Progressive technical death metal outfit Entheos<\/strong> have a new album, \u201cEmpty On The Inside<\/strong>\u201c, scheduled for an October 23rd release date via Metal Blade Records<\/strong>. Today, July 17th, has seen the first single from that record roll out in the form of the below Malcolm Pugh<\/strong>-directed video for \u201cGolden Crown<\/strong>\u201c. Vocalist Chaney Crabb<\/strong> commented on that track:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Golden Crown<\/strong>\u2018 is a song that we spent a few years writing and re-writing until we felt that we really had it right. The chorus of the song was originally written in 2020, long before we began working on this album, and it was so strong that we knew we had to include it on the album. Once the song was finished, it became obvious to us that this was what we wanted to release as our first single. When writing this song, we channeled a lot of our favorite bands and influences from the \u201990s \u2013 we were aiming to write a \u2018heavier\u2019 version of a \u201990s rock song that included creepy synths, huge chorus and an explosive breakdown.<\/p>\n Lyrically, the song is about losing yourself in a deeply destructive attachment that feels both empowering and imprisoning. The formed relationship has become inseparable from your identity. The lyric, \u2018I\u2019ve worn you like a golden crown year after year,\u2019 represents a burden that is destroying you, but has also become how you define yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Recording sessions for this outing took place with producer Mark Lewis<\/strong> (The Black Dahlia Murder<\/strong>, Cannibal Corpse<\/strong>), with the band\u2019s core lineup of vocalist Chaney Crabb<\/strong> and drummer, etc. Navene Koperweis<\/strong> being joined in the studio on guitars\/vocals by Fallujah<\/strong>\u2018s Scott Carstairs<\/strong> and Allegaeon<\/strong>\u2018s Michael Stancel<\/strong>. Evan Brewer<\/strong> once again held down the bass duties.<\/p>\n Speaking collectively on what this album represents, Entheos<\/strong> stated:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Empty On The Inside<\/strong>\u2018 is a statement piece for us.
