Despite rampant criticism<\/span><\/a> of Taylor Swift<\/b><\/a> and Travis Kelce<\/b>\u2019s decision to say <\/b>\u201cI do\u201d inside Madison Square Garden in front of 1,000 of their closest friends and family members, Brad Paisley <\/b><\/a>is <\/b>assuring naysayers that the wedding was anything but tacky.<\/p>\n

\u201cIronically, [it] was one of the least pretentious weddings that I\u2019ve ever seen or ever will see,\u201d Paisley, 53, told the Associated Press<\/span><\/a> on Friday, July 17. \u201cIt meant a lot to be [invited]. It was, kind of, a big thank you from her to invite us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, 36, has known the country star since the start of her own musical career. When it came time to send save-the-dates for her nuptials to Kelce, 36, Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley<\/b>, made the shortlist<\/span><\/a> of 1,000 celebrity attendees.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were very clear with the invite, and I took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite, it said, \u2018If you\u2019re getting this, you mean a lot to us,\u2019\u201d Paisley told the outlet on Friday. \u201cIt was really fun to watch the cat-and-mouse game of, like, \u2018We can tell you roughly where it\u2019s going to be, we\u2019re not gonna say what building \u2026 and here\u2019s the date. If you\u2019re in, we\u2019ll tell you more.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

After conferring with Williams-Paisley, 54, the longtime couple affirmatively RSVP\u2019ed for the eventual star-studded wedding of the decade.<\/p>\n

Paisley and the 9-1-1: Nashville <\/i>actress were among the many guests<\/span><\/a> present when Swift and Kelce exchanged vows on July 3 inside the famed New York City landmark.<\/p>\n

To keep the nuptial plans hush-hush, guests only received information regarding the venue\u2019s location on the big day, and were instructed to lock up their phones and other smart devices while in attendance.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the very big stressors is that they were warned in advance that the phones would be taken away, so [my sister] was like, \u2018What do I do if I have to go to the bathroom and then I come back \u2026 and I don\u2019t know anybody?\u2019\u201d Kimberly\u2019s sister, Ashley Williams<\/b>, recalled during a \u201cPause Rewind\u201d interview earlier this month. \u201cThe strategy was to take people with you to the bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n
