Kelly Clarkson<\/a> returned to the stage for her latest Las Vegas residency show on Friday (July 17) and took a moment to celebrate the positives of ending her eponymous daytime talk show at NBC.<\/p>\n The topic came up during the singer\u2019s Caesars Palace Vegas show while she was stroking a fan\u2019s sequin jacket. \u201cI would get fired at NBC, but I don\u2019t work there anymore,\u201d she quipped. \u201cWhich we are sad about, it\u2019s a fun show. But it\u2019s funny, you go to those HR meetings, and you\u2019re like, \u2018nobody on the road would last.’\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson\u00a0announced\u00a0back\u00a0in February<\/a><\/strong> that her talk show would end after this\u00a0current\u00a0season.\u00a0In a statement, she explained how she wants to \u201cprioritize\u201d her children following the\u00a0passing of their father<\/a><\/strong>, her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who died in August 2025 at 48. Final episodes are expected to broadcast in the fall.<\/p>\n The American Idol<\/em><\/a> winner opened up further about her struggles with human resources meetings. \u201cI was 19 on a bus with dudes, I can\u2019t do what?\u201d she joked, referring to how life on the road as a musician was \u201ca different world\u201d to hosting a show on syndicated television.<\/p>\n \u201cBut then they say dumb s***,\u201d she continued. \u201cLike, you can\u2019t comment if someone\u2019s lost weight, and I\u2019m like, b***h! You better write a memo about it, a song about it. I just think that\u2019s so dumb.
