Queen Camilla<\/a> has visited a charity she has been a patron of for 20 years in Norfolk.\u00a0<\/p>\nCamilla stopped by the Emmaus Norfolk and Waveney residential centre in Bungay, which helps those experiencing homelessness turn their lives around by providing accommodation, therapy and practical work experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Queen spoke of the “brilliant” work the charity does as she met with human rights activist and former hostage, Sir Terry Waite, who is president of Emmaus UK, as well as with staff and supporters and women in the charity’s women\u2019s project.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During her visit, Camilla toured the women’s centre and visited the new \u2018Book Nook\u2019, which has been set up at the centre in conjunction with her literary charity, Queen\u2019s Reading Room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I think you can probably see from everybody’s faces that we’re just incredibly proud [of the Queen\u2019s visit]. It just meant the world, it was fantastic for all of us here, and particularly for the women in the women’s project,” Norfolk branch\u2019s chef executive, Cecile Roberts said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It was lovely to see those women who have been enabled, through that therapeutic intervention, to speak so clearly, and in such an empowered way, with Her Majesty, that was really lovely to see. I felt, particularly proud.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
