Jessie J<\/strong><\/a> and boyfriend Chanan Colman<\/strong> quietly split after welcoming their first baby together.<\/p>\n

\u201cChanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago,\u201d the singer, 38, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Monday, July 20. \u201cIt has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy coparenting environment for our son, and ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jessie explained why it was important<\/a> for her to address the breakup herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately being in the public eye this is the easiest way to let people know the truth, before rumours circulate or a false narrative is written,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany celebrities have spoken out about their personal battles with breast cancer over the years. Julia Louis-Dreyfus went public with her breast cancer diagnosis in September 2017 via Instagram. Nearly one year later, she had successfully beaten the illness and returned to work on Veep. \u201cIt sounds kind of corny, but there\u2019s something about after [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite their decision to part ways, Jessie clarified that the pair were in a good place, adding, \u201cWe will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky\u2019s Mum and Dad.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded: \u201cSo if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That\u2019s exactly what we are doing. Raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former couple started dating<\/a> in 2021. They announced in 2023 that Jessie was pregnant with their first baby, and their son, Sky, was born later that year.<\/p>\n

Ahead of their split, the professional basketball player, 42, was by Jessie\u2019s side as she battled breast cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I\u2019m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I\u2019m holding onto the word early,\u201d Jessie told fans in a June 2025 social media video. \u201cI have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period. I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I\u2019m not processing it because I\u2019m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I\u2019m an open book.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later that month, Jessie offered an update on her treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cPros: Cancer has all gone,\u201d she wrote via her Instagram Stories. \u201cMy nipple is where it used to be [and] I can watch Love Island with no guilt. I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jessie noted that she still had a lingering \u201cfear\u201d<\/a> that the cancer might return. She later clarified that her cancer was not \u201call gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have [misunderstood] my post,\u201d she claimed. \u201cI posted a list of pros and cons of having breast cancer surgery. The first pro I put was \u2026 The cancer has all gone. This was a positive affirmation, NOT a fact.\u201d<\/p>\n
