Richard Gere<\/a> and his family were cheering on Spain ahead of their big win against Argentina<\/a> at the FIFA World Cup 2026<\/a> final on Sunday, July 19.<\/p>\n The actor’s wife, Alejandra Silva Gere<\/a>, 43, who is originally from Spain, shared multiple photos and videos on Instagram<\/a> as they headed to the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., which was renamed the “New York New Jersey Stadium” for the duration of the World Cup.<\/p>\n The mom of three could be seen posing with Gere, 76, and one of her sons, who appeared to be Albert Friedland<\/a>, 13, in the stands at the game, while another clip she shared showed the team with their medals holding up the cup. She blurred her child’s face in the images to protect his privacy.<\/p>\n Alejandra also posed for a photo with Javier Bardem, with him and Gere each holding a side of a Spain T-shirt while Alejandra beamed in the middle of them.<\/p>\n She also posted other clips from the game, as well as the halftime show<\/a>, which brought together an all-star lineup that included\u00a0Shakira<\/a>,\u00a0Madonna<\/a>,\u00a0BTS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Justin Bieber<\/a>\u00a0for an 11-minute performance.<\/p>\n “There are moments you know you’ll remember for a lifetime, and today we were incredibly lucky to experience one of them in New Jersey, surrounded by family, friends and thousands of people sharing the same excitement,” she captioned her post, translated from the original Spanish.<\/p>\n “Watching Spain be crowned world champions was a mix of joy, nerves, hugs, and pride.
