The debut gives Journey its first placement on the roster. The list did not exist when the band was releasing its biggest hits, and streaming platforms would not become a major part of the music industry for decades.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d is one of several years- or even decades-old tunes that debut on the Streaming Songs chart following the July 4 holiday. Lynyrd Skynyrd\u2019s \u201cSweet Home Alabama,\u201d Zac Brown Band\u2019s \u201cChicken Fried,\u201d<\/a> Bruce Springsteen\u2019s \u201cBorn in the U.S.A.,\u201d Creedence Clearwater Revival\u2019s \u201cFortunate Son\u201d and John Denver\u2019s \u201cTake Me Home, Country Roads\u201d<\/a> also land on the ranking for the first time. Most of those cuts give the veteran musical acts behind them their debut placements on the streaming-only roster.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The same smash soars to new high points on both of Billboard<\/em>\u2019s worldwide songs lists. \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d bounds from No. 106 to No. 44 on the Billboard Global 200, which ranks the most-consumed songs around the planet using sales and streaming activity.<\/p>\n The track performs even better on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., a similar tally that purposefully ignores consumption from American listeners in order to show what the rest of the world is listening to. Journey\u2019s signature single leaps from No. 165 to No. 74. Both of those positions mark new peaks for \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d and for Journey.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d also finds its way back to the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 35. The ranking details the most popular songs in the United States each week using sales, streams and radio activity. It is relatively uncommon for a decades-old hit to return to the tally, especially one that first charted so long ago. \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d originally peaked at No. 9 in 1981, and now it becomes a top 40 win all over again.<\/p>\n The song\u2019s reappearance is largely tied to streaming, as evidenced by its simultaneous debut on the Streaming Songs chart. \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d also climbs back into the top 10 on the Rock Streaming Songs roster, jumping from No. 14 to No. 7.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Thanks largely to the current and sudden success of \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019,\u201d Journey\u2019s Greatest Hits<\/em> becomes the band\u2019s first project to land on the Top Streaming Albums chart. The compilation launches at No. 47 on the ranking, which looks only at the full-lengths and EPs that rack up the most streams in the U.S. The set includes all of Journey\u2019s most familiar songs, but \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d is responsible for a substantial portion of the title\u2019s current activity.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The compilation also appears on three additional Billboard<\/em> albums lists this week. Journey\u2019s Greatest Hits<\/em> rises from No. 13 to No. 10 on the Top Rock Albums chart, returning to the highest tier. On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking, the collection comes within one rung of the top 10 as it improves from No. 17 to No. 11.
