Jason Tartick<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Kathryn Hurley<\/strong><\/a>, didn\u2019t consider having children until falling head over heels for the Bachelor Nation alum.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want kids with you,\u201d Hurley, 34, revealed on the Monday, July 20, episode of Tartick\u2019s \u201cTrading Secrets<\/a>\u201d podcast while answering a fan\u2019s question about their plans for a family. \u201cI never was the type of woman who was like, \u2018I was born to be a mother.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

While Tartick, 37, insisted that his fianc\u00e9e is definitely suited for motherhood, Hurley said, \u201cI never felt that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wags & Walks Nashville founder noted that she \u201cknew I would be a good mom\u201d and could \u201ctake care of a child\u201d in the right way, but it wasn\u2019t necessarily her end goal.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJason Tartick and girlfriend Kathryn Hurley are a paw-fect match after meeting in the cutest way possible: through a dog adoption. After adopting his golden retriever Teddy in March 2025 \u2014 through Wags & Walks Nashville, which Hurley founded and where she serves as the executive director \u2014 Tartick exclusively told Us\u00a0that his dream girl\u2019s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t think about it much when I was younger. As I got older, I was like, \u2018Ew, no, I\u2019m good,\u2019\u201d Hurley confessed, explaining that her outlook on motherhood shifted once Tartick entered her life in 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She recalled, \u201cI met you and I said I didn\u2019t want kids. I think that shows the importance of a partner in your life. \u2026 [Now], I want your babies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hurley added, \u201cIf something happened to you or I never met you, I would have never pursued having a child on my own.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eastern Michigan University alum said that Tartick\u2019s love unlocked that other side of her, so she\u2019ll be ready to have babies with him when the time comes.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, we will have kids, all things willing. I felt like I met the love of my life and wanted to have a partner that I could parent well with,\u201d Hurley gushed. \u201cSeeing a little scraggly little kid running around? Hell yeah, I\u2019ll do that with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Tartick hinted that maybe they could \u201chave a few,\u201d Hurley smiled, replying, \u201cTwo max.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hurley\u2019s honest comments about children come one week after Tartick announced that he proposed<\/a>\u00a0on their European vacation.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight where we belong \ud83d\udc8d,\u201d Tartick captioned the joint Instagram post on July 13, sharing photos of himself down on one knee.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s engagement took place less than one year after Us<\/em>\u00a0confirmed in November 2025<\/a> that Tartick was dating Hurley after meeting through her Wags & Walks Nashville adoption organization. (Tartick adopted his dog Teddy in March 2025.)<\/p>\n

Tartick and Hurley looked back at their relationship during Monday\u2019s podcast, sharing that they started out as friends after they crossed paths at Wags & Walks Nashville.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause we were friends and we didn\u2019t meet on Hinge, there was no pressure to speak to each other a certain way or impress you,\u201d Hurley recalled. \u201cIf you didn\u2019t adopt Teddy, you could\u2019ve just left that day and we would have never had a reason to speak again. \u2026 As we became friends, you\u2019re having more free flowing conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hurley, who grew up in Michigan, teased that the former Bachelorette<\/em> contestant<\/a> is the \u201copposite of a guy who love-bombs,\u201d telling listeners that Tartick gave her his \u201ctime and attention\u201d but wasn\u2019t overtly flirty to start their romance.<\/p>\n

Hurley noted that outside of finding her best friend in Tartick, she felt excited that they are so compatible.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think being honest about compatibility [is everything],\u201d she shared. \u201cLife is just already so hard, so I think that having a partner where you\u2019re not trying to understand a different language [is key].\u201d<\/p>\n

Tartick, for his part, said he was looking for someone who wasn\u2019t selfish<\/a> before he found Hurley.<\/p>\n
