Season 2 of Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross<\/em> features trips to Switzerland, Thailand, and Australia and is available now on the Roku Channel<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nTracee Ellis Ross<\/a> is opening up about her \u201cemotional\u201d return to the Swiss boarding school she attended more than 40 years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\nThe actress and avid globetrotter, 53, recently sat down with Travel + Leisure<\/em><\/a> to discuss the July 20 premiere of season 2 of Roku Channel\u2019s Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross<\/em><\/a>. During the episode, Ross reminisced about her time on campus as a teen as she strolled through the main campus of Institut Le Rosey in Rolle, which is often regarded as the world\u2019s most expensive boarding school. As she walked around, she could pinpoint the exact room she used as a dorm. She also remembered the entry gate where her mom, Diana Ross<\/a>, 82, would often drive through for a visit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\u201cThe years I was there were so impactful to me,\u201d Ross tells Travel + Leisure<\/em>. \u201cThe campus is very old school. My dorm was exactly the same \u2014 it is no longer a dorm, but the floor, the door handles were exactly the same.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\nShe adds: \u201cIt felt like being in a time machine. I couldn\u2019t stop crying. But Ross\u2019 trip to Switzerland extended beyond Rolle. She spent a majority of most of her time in Gstaad, a community in the Swiss Alps where the institute boards its students during the winter months. For her accommodations, Ross stayed at the Gstaad Palace, a luxury hotel known for its castle-like architecture.<\/p>\n
To fully immerse herself in the culture, Ross took part in some skiing lessons.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMy ski instructor was fantastic,\u201d she says. \u201cHe also has a cheese farm. He brought me cheese.
