Teen Mom<\/em> alum Jenelle Evans<\/strong><\/a> is sharing a rare update on 16-year-old son Jace after he allegedly pulled a gun on his grandmother Barbara Evans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd here\u2019s a real update about Jace. From what I choose to share, he\u2019s working on himself and focusing on his emotions. He\u2019s obviously had ups and downs but I\u2019m hoping for the best in his future. Here\u2019s some awesome pictures of his progress,\u201d Jenelle, 34, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Monday, July 20.<\/p>\n

Alongside the message, Jenelle shared several photos of her son through the years. In one pic, Jace gave a soft smile for the camera as he strummed a guitar.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had countless night of crying over the past 6 months because i want him to be happy and will do whatever it takes to help him mentally and physically,\u201d Jenelle concluded. \u201cAs his mother I WILL NOT give up. \ud83e\udd79\u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83e\ude79 #TeamJace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTeen Mom alum Jenelle Evans is assuring fans that her 16-year-old son Jace is in good hands. \u201cI\u2019ll let you know something that I haven\u2019t told anyone,\u201d Evans, 34, shared on the Monday, April 13, episode of the \u201cLa Femme Talk\u201d podcast. \u201cYou know I\u2019ve been very quiet online, and behind the scenes, I\u2019ve been [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

News broke in March that Jenelle\u2019s mother, Barbara, had filed for emergency custody of Jace.<\/p>\n

That month, TMZ reported that Jace had been placed in a mental health facility after allegedly pulling a gun on Barbara<\/a> in late February. The outlet claimed that the incident occurred while Jace was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. (At the time, Jace was living with Barbara in North Carolina. Jenelle is based in Las Vegas with her two younger children Kaiser, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith<\/strong>, and Ensley, whom she welcomed with David Eason<\/strong><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Barbara\u2019s motion for custody was ultimately denied. Jace\u2019s father, Andrew Lewis<\/strong>, went on to start a GoFundMe to raise money for \u201cmedical and legal\u201d expenses for Jace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe \u2014 Jace\u2019s father and grandmother \u2014 are trying everything we can to bring him home to his grandma\u2019s house to live, but are currently facing massive medical and legal expenses to do so,\u201d Lewis claimed. \u201cDuring the last month, people who are concerned and care for Jace have reached out to ask how they can help us in our fight for Jace, leading us to create this fundraiser. Anything left over will be for his future medical needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenelle, however, released a statement to Us<\/em> and called the crowdsourcing initiative a \u201cscam.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy son is FULLY covered by health insurance, and I AM currently handling and paying for all of his medical care,\u201d she alleged. \u201cBeware this is a scam for anyone that has donated.\u201d<\/p>\n

In April, Jenelle promised her followers that Jace was in a good place.<\/p>\n
