Heidi Montag<\/strong><\/a> is marking a major milestone as a pop star while keeping family first.<\/p>\n

As the reality star and singer continues to find new success in music<\/a>, she\u2019s focused on balancing life on stage with raising her two sons alongside husband Spencer Pratt<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cThis is a huge moment in my career,\u201d Montag, 39, told Us<\/em> one day before performing her first hour-long set at Neon Skies Festival on Saturday, July 18, where she headlined the event alongside Kesha<\/strong> and Slayyyter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Montag acknowledged that juggling parent duties with her pop comeback<\/a> isn\u2019t always easy, but she\u2019s fully up for the challenge. She told Us<\/em>, \u201cI\u2019ve been rehearsing since I got the call, which I think was in late February or March, and I just didn\u2019t want it to be so much pressure at the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hills<\/em> alum explained that balancing rehearsals and performances with raising children requires extra preparation and thoughtful scheduling. \u201cI wanted to slowly knock it out and work on it,\u201d she added. \u201cYou know, my children [Gunner and Ryker] are my priority, so I wanted to give space for them getting sick or me getting sick or who knows anything happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo little by little, I\u2019ve just been working on this show since I got the call, and then really ramping it up in the past few weeks as well,\u201d Montag shared. \u201cI\u2019ve consistently been doing rehearsal for months now, and then you know, incorporating that.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Montag, the balancing act is worth it because she\u2019s grateful to be doing what she loves. It\u2019s been just a few weeks since she released her third studio album, Masterpiece<\/em>, on June 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m feeling really confident and comfortable with what is, and I\u2019m just trying to take the pressure and the stress away because it\u2019s fun, and the fact that this is a job and living my dream is so exciting,\u201d she explained to Us<\/em>. \u201cSo I just want to be able to stay on that stage and fully be in presence in that moment and to be able to have fun and enjoy doing it because that\u2019s what the news is all about at the end of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her journey, Montag said years of reinventing herself have taught her to stay positive and embrace every new opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that you don\u2019t just have one shot in life. There\u2019s so much pressure. Get the right course, and this is it. It\u2019s like that\u2019s not true,\u201d she said. \u201cLife is always shifting and shaping and changing, and it\u2019s never too late to be who you want to be, and a lot of things take time and practice.\u201d<\/p>\n

While embracing her own new chapter, Montag has also been showing support to her husband, 42, as he focuses on what\u2019s next<\/a> after losing the L.A. Mayoral race in June. (Pratt finished third in the primary election behind incumbent mayor Karen Bass<\/strong> and city councilwoman Nithya Raman<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n
