Ahead of his sophomore album, <\/span>Esteban Flores, <\/span><\/i>alternative rock artist Slow Joy<\/a><\/strong>, released \u201cForget.\u201d Memories tunnel through a distorted vocal chamber on this indie rock track, succumbing to a release of power.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n From Mexican-American musician Esteban Flores, Slow Joy creates raw sounds that blend shoegaze, emo, and alternative rock. He debuted his first album in 2025, and now, he\u2019s gearing up for his self-titled follow-up. <\/span>Esteban Flores <\/span><\/i>comes out on August 14, featuring already-released \u201cSLC Punk on an SSRI<\/a>\u201d and \u201cForget.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n On the latest single, Slow Joy crafts vulnerable songwriting, delivered through a heavy ambience. Warped guitars scratch through forceful drums, and Slow Joy cuts in with staccato chants of realizing he\u2019s feeling emotionally heavy and needs to take a step back.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cForget is a song about giving in. I always felt like I had an idea of what life was like and how things were supposed to work,\u201d says Flores. \u201cAs I get older, I realize nothing in life is certain.
