The musically-minded Duchess of Kent left behind a special gift
\nfor the charity she co-founded after stepping down as a working
\nroyal according to her will, which was just publicly revealed.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail<\/em> exclusively
\nrevealed<\/a> the details of Katharine Kent\u2019s will on Monday, noting
\nthat she had a fortune of \u00a31,433,696 that reduced down to
\n\u00a31,433,206 after her liabilities were paid.<\/p>\n

While the bulk
\nof the Duchess of Kent\u2019s estate has passed down to her three
\nchildren: George, the Earl of St Andrews, Lady Helen Taylor, and
\nLord Nicholas Windsor; and \u00a35,000 legacies were granted to each of
\nher nine godchildren; Future Talent, the musical charitable
\nfoundation she co-founded in 2004, received a \u00a310,000 gift.<\/h4>\n

Future Talent aims to \u201cbreak down barriers, create
\nopportunities and harness the power of music to transform the lives
\nof young musicians across the UK,\u201d<\/em> according to its
\nofficial website<\/a>, by creating access for children of all
\nbackgrounds to receive training and musical education.<\/p>\n

Her co-founder, Nicholas Robinson, paid tribute to Katherine following
\nher death<\/a>, writing that \u201cAt that time [that they met],
\nKatharine was teaching music to primary school children in east
\nHull. Her experience of working with these children made her
\nimpatient to want to do something to help all young people with
\nmusical potential to flourish and to remove any barriers to their
\nprogress. She believed passionately in helping others to
\nexcel\u2014especially those who are disadvantaged, and so in November
\n2004 we founded a national charity \u2018Future Talent\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cKatharine has played such an active role in the development
\nand progress of Future Talent during the last 20 years, and we will
\nmiss her dreadfully. However, we can take comfort that her legacy
\nwill last for many years through the lives of all the present and
\nfuture generations of young musicians who we will continue to
\nsupport through the work of \u2018Future Talent\u2019.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Mail<\/em> also revealed that all of the Duchess of
\nKent\u2019s personal possessions were left to her husband of 64 years,
\nthe Duke of Kent, except for in some cases where she left notes
\nbehind on how she wanted particular items distributed.<\/p>\n

Her shares from the Worsley Settlement, her family\u2019s trust, go
\nto the Duke of Kent during his lifetime, and then to her children
\nafterwards. Property interest was given to her grandson, Edward
\nWindsor, Lord Downpatrick.<\/p>\n


\nThe Duchess of Kent died on 4 September 2025<\/a> at the age of 92,
\nat the time the oldest member of the British Royal Family.<\/p>\n
