The acclaimed singer-songwriter has unveiled new singles \u201cWeekend Lover\u201d and \u201cUsed To It,\u201d out now on One Riot, offering two distinct perspectives from her forthcoming album, \u2018Half Moon,\u2019 due August 14.<\/p>\n<p>Both tracks mark the latest step in Rose\u2019s ongoing run of work stretching the boundaries of Americana, soul, rock and roots music. The sultry \u201cWeekend Lover\u201d leans on Rose\u2019s powerhouse vocals, carrying a confident swagger, a deep groove and a hook that sticks.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Weekend Lover &amp; Used To It\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/1SFDJYF9MZl8LesS75fDhs?si=FRrMcBhbS7-nCPhvYc4oBA&amp;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Rose opened up about the song\u2019s origins: \u201cThe song evokes an after-after-party where everyone is uninhibited and the room is humming.\u201d She\u2019s described the track\u2019s sensory details, from the taste of tequila to the steamy feel of Austin, Texas, framing it as an intimate love song about staying carefree with a partner even as life gets more serious.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsed To It\u201d takes a more introspective turn, opening the album with emotional depth and cinematic sound. Rose called it a natural fit for that role: \u201cIt felt like a natural album opener because of the shape of the song itself.\u201d She\u2019s said the song\u2019s dynamics offer a preview of what\u2019s ahead on the rest of the record, built around an all-or-nothing sentiment, either walk away or go all in.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Half Moon\u2019 was co-produced by Lawrence Rothman, known for his work with Amanda Shires, and Daniel Tashian, known for his work with Kacey Musgraves. The album takes its name from its soul-searching centerpiece, written just two days before Maggie\u2019s son, Graham, was born.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the album, Rose already released lead single \u201cRed Shoes,\u201d and just dropped a striking new music video for \u201cGentle Man,\u201d filmed at golden hour at Milestone Cattle Company Farm in Mt. Juliet, TN. The clip keeps things close to home, starring her husband and manager, Austin Marshall, alongside their one-year-old son, Graham.<\/p>\n<p>Rose has plenty ahead, including an Austin City Limits TV taping in August and AmericanaFest in September, with touring continuing through the rest of the year.
