Chiodos<\/a> have unleashed the single \u201cTAPDAT,\u201d the post-hardcore band\u2019s first new song in 12 years. The track comes ahead of the band\u2019s summer North American tour.<\/p>\n \u201cTAPDAT\u201d is a dynamic single, covering a frankly absurd amount of range in four minutes in an aesthetically cohesive way. The song opens with progressive metal virtuosic flourishes before incorporating elements of neo-classical metal, metalcore, alternative R&B, screamo, and digitized Autotune driven post-hardcore.<\/p>\n Get Chiodos Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n Chiodos always leaned toward the more progressive and artsy end of their wave of screamo alongside bands like The Receiving End of Sirens, The Fall of Troy, and Fear Before the March of Flames. \u201cTAPDAT\u201d shows that not only have they not lost a step but they\u2019ve kept their ears to the ground over the past decade and taken in a lot of modern influence.<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n Vocalist Craig Owed stated, \u201cThere is still so much work to be done to build out the world of Chiodos. \u2018TAPDAT\u2019 is the first step in that direction.
