Stripes, and Supernovas \u2013 Symphony Under the Stars\u201d\u00a0event\u00a0brought employees, families, and community members together for an evening filled with music, connection, and celebration.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organizers planned the event, which took place July 16, to mark the 250<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the founding of the United States of America.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening\u00a0featured a dynamic mix of\u00a0performances\u00a0from\u00a0an orchestra that included NASA Langley employees and members of the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra, as well as smaller group performances from employees and special guest artist Karl Werne.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s fun to bring people together, to share their diverse talents in order to create something that\u2019s meaningful \u2013 and in this case something that was very beautiful too,\u201d said Jennifer Kibler, deputy director of the Research Directorate at NASA Langley.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The orchestra played a selection of patriotic favorites and space-inspired pieces that highlighted the creativity and talent within the community. \u201cAmerica the Beautiful,\u201d \u201cGod Bless America,\u201d and \u201cJupiter, the Bringer of Jollity\u201d from Gustav Holst\u2019s orchestral suite \u201cThe Planets\u201d were among the songs they performed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event, which also took place just one day before NASA Langley\u2019s 109<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0birthday,\u00a0served as a reminder of the spirit that defines\u00a0the center\u2014scientists, engineers, communicators, and staff coming together to celebrate not only NASA\u2019s mission, but the people who make that mission possible.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis was a big team effort,\u201d said Nicole Oman, administrative management specialist with the Research Directorate. \u201cIt wouldn\u2019t have been a success without the contributions of every single person.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><em> \u2018 The
