Deezer says fully AI-generated music now accounts for more than 50% of new uploads on peak days.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Just three months after reporting that AI-generated music made up 44% of new uploads<\/a>, Deezer has revealed<\/a> another concerning milestone. The streaming platform says it is now receiving around 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks every day, with AI content accounting for more than half of all new music uploads on peak days in June.<\/p>\n

Deezer expands its response to AI music<\/h3>\n

Following this latest milestone, Deezer has announced it will begin removing AI-generated tracks used for streaming fraud, alongside AI tracks that have not been streamed for at least six months.<\/p>\n

According to Deezer, fully AI-generated music still represents only 1-3% of total streams on the platform, despite making up a much larger share of uploads. The company says this is largely because AI-generated tracks are excluded from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, while fraudulent streams are removed from royalty calculations.<\/p>\n

Deezer also reports that up to 85% of streams on fully AI-generated tracks were identified as fraudulent during 2025, reinforcing its view that many of these uploads are intended to manipulate streaming systems rather than reach genuine listeners.<\/p>\n

AI detection and transparency remain a priority<\/h3>\n

Deezer has been developing its AI detection technology since early 2025 and says it has now identified and tagged more than 13.4 million AI-generated tracks. The company\u2019s detection system can recognise music created using models including Suno and Udio, and Deezer is now licensing the technology to other organisations across the music industry.<\/p>\n

The wider industry is also moving towards clearer AI labelling. As Music Business Worldwide<\/a> reports, organisations including the RIAA and IFPI are continuing to push for common standards that distinguish between \u201cAI-generated\u201d and \u201cAI-assisted\u201d music across streaming services.<\/p>\n

What this means for independent artists<\/h3>\n

While the sheer number of AI uploads is increasing rapidly, the latest figures also show that upload volume does not necessarily translate into listening. Deezer\u2019s own data suggests genuine listener behaviour continues to favour human-created music, with AI tracks accounting for only a small percentage of streams.<\/p>\n
